Help Save Tommy: Urgent Cat Surgery Vet Bills
Donation protected
UPDATE 5/19: My poor little Tommy was rushed back to the vet last night, as he was unable to use the bathroom again. They're sedating him, performing an enema, inserting a catheter, and trying him on some new medicines and IV hydration today. Please, please consider donating or sharing to help us. I would do anything to save him, he's my sweet little man. Thank you for reading, I will update again when I hear something from the vet. <3

UPDATE 5/16: Tommy's surgery has been completed and he is at home resting and on lots of medicine to keep him comfortable. Thank you so so much for your help so far. We still need help paying off the ~$4,000 debt for the surgery, though, so if you have even a few dollars or some time to share this page we would be forever grateful!

Hello! I'm Zachary, and this is my cat, Tommy. He is my sweet little 11-year-old boy, he loves to snuggle, eat treats, and play with stuffed animals, and he needs an urgent surgery to remove his bladder stones.
Any amount is appreciated, just 1 dollar or even sharing his GoFundMe page can make a huge difference to us. 【≽^•⩊•^≼】
Last tuesday, 10/8/24, Tommy stopped eating any food. This continued the next morning, wednesday, 10/9, so I brought him to the vet, and they did an exam, x-rays, and blood work that were all pretty inconclusive, but he got a few medicines to try to help him eat.
He still hadn't eaten by friday, 10/11, and was struggling to use the litterbox. So I brought him in again, and the vet ran a urinalysis, sedated him and took more x-rays, and re-examined him carefully. They noticed on his x-rays that he had some solid formations in his bladder, inserted a catheter and emptied/flushed his bladder. We discussed a diet change to get him on a urinary food to dissolve these formations, and we went home.
Tommy ate all of his dinner that night! :) I was so happy and proud of him, hopeful that this would be the end of it.
However, the next night, saturday, 10/12, Tommy was eating better but took many trips to the litterbox, only able to pee a tiny bit each time. We know that it is life-threatening for male cats to have bladder problems, so we rushed him to the closest ER vet. They emptied his bladder and looked over him, and after a lot of discussion they decided that it would be necessary that he have surgery to get the bladder stones removed before they blocked his bladder completely, which would kill him.
At this point, I had used the majority of my savings and credit card limit to afford these vet trips, so bringing him in on monday, 10/14, for his surgical pre-exam was a little scary. They emptied his bladder, examined him and all the tests and x-rays he'd had, and gave me a surgery date: this wednesday, 10/16! I was very relived to hear Tommy wouldn't have to suffer for much longer, but then they gave me the surgery cost estimate: $3686-$4905.
I am desperate to raise any amount of money to help get my little guy this life-saving surgery. I am asking friends and family, applying for credit cards and loans, applying for emergency financial assistance, with limited success so far. He needs this surgery soon.
Tommy is literally my best friend, I've raised him since he was a scraggly little kitten that we rescued from outside 10 years ago.
We spend most of the day together; playing outside, snacking, Tommy sleeping while I work on homework. I can't imagine my life without him.
Please, if you are able to help, even $1, Tommy and I would be so thankful. Your money will literally be directly going to saving his life.
If you aren't able to donate, sharing this page is just as helpful. The more people that see it, the closer Tommy will be to being comfortable, healthy, and able to play with his little toys again.
Thank you so much for reading. I will be sharing regular updates and pictures on this page.
If you donate, I would love to send you a unique picture of Tommy and a personal thank you message from both of us. :)
Thank you again!
Love, Zachary and Tommy

Update 10/15
Hello everyone! Today Tommy was unable to use the litter box at all, so I rushed him back to the ER around 11am. The vet was able to luckily get another catheter in, so I told him goodbye, and they took him back to prep for bladder stone removal surgery around 2pm. He is in surgery right now at the time of me posting this, and I'm very anxious about how it's going to turn out. But I'm trying to stay positive, and I'm very grateful for you all donating to his surgery fund and allowing me to be able to have him rushed in today.
I will be posting another update as soon as he is out of surgery. Thank you everyone for your help and well wishes so far! <3333

Update 10/15 ~4pm
Tommy is officially out of surgery! The surgeon said everything went well, with no complications! He has a little extra inflammation, but they're going to keep him overnight and monitor him every hour. The vet will call me back in the morning with another update and hopefully discharge instructions, and I will talk to you all then. Thank you again for your help saving my little Tommy!
