Help with Tommy T’s vet expenses—He’s only been in the ER for 2 days and 2 nights (so far) and his vet bills have already totaled nearly $10,000.

On Wednesday, October 1, we woke up and something wasn’t right with Tommy T. After taking him to the vet, his heart rate, temperature, and blood pressure were all dangerously low. We spent the day thinking we’d lose him. We eventually transferred him to a local 24/7 ER, where he has so far spent two nights. The first night was touch and go for him. While we still don’t definitively know what’s wrong with him, his vitals are improving. He is being treated with a broad spectrum of antibiotics and steroids. The doctors think he has a severe gastrointestinal disease—possibly small cell lymphoma. We can’t know for certain at this point because Tommy T isn’t well enough to undergo sedation for a biopsy. If we do bring him home soon, he’s going to need lots of medicine and continued treatment at home, and hopefully he’ll eventually be well enough for a biopsy.

My Tommy T is only 9 years old. He is truly everything to me. We have been through so much together. He loves to sleep next to me, sit in my lap while I work, and pretty much lay on me any chance he gets. We’d greatly appreciate your help while we navigate this difficult time.
