Hello everyone, my name's Tommy.
11 years ago, my original dad got me from a "friend" who was mistreating me as a tiny puppy. A retired veteran, he spent every single day with me and took the best care of me he could. He even spoiled me with Burger King.
Less than a year ago, my new mom and dad took me in when my original dad got sick. They have known me for over 5 years. It was a scary situation, and they kept me safe. Recently, I got sick. They brought me to the emergency vets and exhausted everything they had to find out what was wrong. We still don't have a definite answer. After tests and an ultrasound, it has been determined I most likely have prostate cancer, with no tumors yet. My new mom would love more than anything to seek treatment for me as at 11 years old and the phenomenal health I am in, it has high potential to be successful. I have become their best friend, and I love them too, and they even still bring me to see my original dad. Everyone who meets me says I am the best dog.
Tommy needs another blood work and urinalysis to be sent out to determine cancer and type as there's no tumors to sample and this will cost about $980. They believe prostate because the ultrasound showed extensive mineralization in his prostate (and he is unaltered due to the lack of affordable clinics 10 years ago) and a thickened bladder lining (though typical with the bladder infection he had). His blood work showed his calcium was very high as well.
We have been showered with well wishes, but what we really need is help. We took him on, not even expecting the expenses of living because it was an emergency, and we have done well, but this is much more than we ever could've expected, and he deserves it. He brings so much joy to everyone. There are always smiles with him around. He even has started to wake me up when my blood sugar sensor alerts too many times and I don't move.
