I’m raising funds to assist with my rehabilitation and recovery after suffering a severe ischemic stroke.

These funds will go directly towards specialized stroke therapies, medication and treatments, as well as dental treatment after breaking many teeth after falling when I suffered my stroke.

While some of my stroke treatments and hospital stays were covered initially by insurance, almost all of these recurring treatments and medications are now out of pocket or only partially covered.

I am humbly (yes me) asking you, my wonderful family of friends, for help with the cost of my ongoing fight to recover.

I just want to be “me” again.

The LONG version;

My name is Tommy (Just Tommy to my friends and family) and for all intents and purpose, I’m a lifelong musician, self proclaimed computer nerd and audio super freak.

I am also a former aviation electronics technician & air crewman, serving in tactical electronic warfare and direct action squadron in the Gulf War and Haiti.

As you know, it’s been a brutal year personally.

I suffered this stroke (ischemic) in February 2025 that stole most of my ability to walk, read, (I lost the vision in my right eye) and most devastating, my physical motor skills - my ability to work and more crushing, my ability to play any musical instrument.

This haunts me daily.

Through endless therapy, rehabilitation, and specialized treatments, my vision is getting “better” and I’m working on walking unassisted, but there’s so much more. A long way from not being able to do more than use a thumb and only see out of my left eye. I’m sure you can imagine.

I’m using the right side of my body as much as I can, and getting a little more independent every day but I have a long way to go.

It’s the urgency for any improvements and the will to keep pushing forward, to regain some kind “normal”, that drives this.

It’s been a very trying time.

As a musician, losing all of my instruments, much less the ability to play them, was devastating.

But I’m trying hard to get back.

“Why are we here Tommy”?

I’m starting this because the next few months are going to be the hardest - and I need your help.

I have had zero income at all for close to a year. That’s a harsh daily reality.

When I had the stroke,

I thought my insurance covered it all.

Not even close.

The burden of balancing all of this is agonizing, and gets more frustrating every day.

So my friends, even if it’s pocket change, or sharing this, it makes a big difference and helps so much.

A little adds up and means a lot.

I just want my life back.

Unless I die - then you can sell my socks and spare body parts.
