Help Do Family Rebuild After House Fire
Thursday night, my parents’ home in Southern California caught fire while they were away. Thankfully, everyone is safe and they have a place to stay. But now while we wait for insurance, my sister and I are piecing together whatever we can to help them bridge the gap.
My parents, Tommy and Mindy, are retired Vietnamese refugees who came to the U.S. over 30 years ago. They raised three kids and poured their savings into renovating their home, which was just completed days ago.
One of the best qualities about our parents is they are resilient, but it doesn’t mean they have to do it alone. This isn’t the first time they’ve lost everything. After losing our home to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, our family rebuilt our lives in Southern California. Nearly 20 years later, my parents are facing that same devastation again.
We’re raising funds to help them bridge this gap and offer some immediate relief. Any amount helps more than you know.
