Their Story

Over Memorial Day weekend in 2024, life changed forever for Tommy Nicholson. A sudden medical emergency in the Florida keys led to him being life-flighted to Miami, where doctors delivered the devastating news: Stage 4 Glioblastoma — an aggressive and terminal brain cancer.

Since that day, Tommy has fought with courage, faith, and determination. In January 2025, he bravely underwent a second brain surgery, hoping to slow the disease’s rapid progression. But the tumor had already grown too aggressively.

Now, Tommy requires round-the-clock care. His devoted wife, Marianne, has never left his side—managing his care at home, attending countless medical appointments, and being his constant source of comfort and strength. This journey has been emotionally exhausting and financially devastating.

Until Tommy stops receiving immunotherapy infusions, hospice is not an option. These treatments are part of giving him the best chance and keeping every door open. In the meantime, Marianne must provide nearly all of his care at home herself.
