Tommy, has been through an incredibly difficult journey since November. He has suffered numerous heart attacks, and the hospital had to remove his pacemaker. Unfortunately, the wires from the pacemaker went through stents in his heart, making them impossible to remove with standard procedures. To make matters worse, sepsis has developed on the wires, as well as on his feet and legs. The only way to remove the wires is to bring in a specialist—the only one in the United States who can perform this complex surgery. Right now, we don’t have a definite date for when the surgeon will be able to come, which adds even more uncertainty to an already stressful situation.

During this time, our family is facing significant financial and physical challenges. The costs of caring for Tommy’s family while he is in the hospital, medication expenses, and the gas and travel required for the specialist and our family are adding up quickly. We are doing everything we can to support Tommy, but the burden is overwhelming.
