Help Tommy and Brandi Rebuild After Fire

Our next door neighbors, Tommy and Brandi lost their garage and had damage to their home from a fire. Please consider donating to help our friends, as they have a complete loss of everything in their garage.

Counting my blessings big time today. Gunny might have just saved my life this afternoon. I went home early from work today because I was feeling sick. I was home alone with just Gunny and Millie. I laid down for a nap around 1:30pm. By 3:15pm, Gunny was barking frantically and woke me up. I initially woke up angry and confused until I ran downstairs and saw that my neighbors garage was engulfed in flames. When I ran to the front door, there were police and firefighters yelling/pounding on the windows and doors for me to get out of the house, as the fire was close to spreading to our home. All of the surrounding neighbors pitched in and helped get me and my dogs safely out of the house.

Nobody was hurt, my neighbors are safe and my family is safe. I am forever grateful that God made sure I was home and kept all of us safe. I am thankful for Portage, Poynette, and Pardeeville Fire Departments, Aspirus EMS, and Portage Police for their quick response to extinguish the fire and evacuate those in danger. And I am so grateful that my dogs alerted me of the danger. I had never been so afraid in my whole life. But this could have been so much worse. Please pray for my neighbors during this difficult time. Their garage is a total loss and they might have some damage to their home as well.
