Help Me Keep A Home and Stay Afloat

Hi, My name is Tomi Schultea and I am asking for help because I am struggling more than I can handle. Being recently unemployed has taken a serious toll on my mental health, but I’ve just started two new jobs and am determined to break even. For years, I’ve worked nonstop in restaurants, pouring my heart and soul into long hours, being almost too passionate about my work, and truly loving what I did. Some incomprehensible situations at my job set me back what feels like too far to recover. Living with bipolar disorder, PTSD, and daily body pain has made stability difficult, and now I’m at risk of losing both my home and my car. I love my houme and have been here for 8 years, but my car is like my 2nd home; it’s consistency and safety, but any car possible would be a lifesaver. Right now, I urgently need help with rent, utilities, and car costs to stay afloat while I stabilize and recover. Any support means the world!

I set the goal at $5,000 to start because even partial support would relieve a huge amount of stress, cover my home, and give me a chance to secure reliable transportation.

I have come into a position where I cannot see myself being able to catch up any time soon, and feel it may only get worse with time, so I against my normal beliefs, I am asking for any help possible.

I live with arthritis and daily body pain, and as someone who is neurodivergent and has struggled to keep stability, having something consistent in my life makes all the difference. My rental home has been my sanctuary for 8 years, at an incredibly good price it's easy to maintain with roommates, but I have no other occupants for the next month and am solely relying on my own funding, but since leaving my job, I cannot afford it. I love my Jeep Renegade as well. It’s familiar, it’s comfortable, and it’s my lifeline. Losing it to repossession would not only damage my credit further but would be devastating for me mentally. I know asking for $8k to save it is a big ask, so I would also be grateful to take any help toward a used car instead, which may cost me $2-3k.

The last year has been especially hard: I was sick for months, my car needed major repairs, and my cat needed a life-saving amputation — which drained all of my savings. On top of that, my roommates moved out unexpectedly, leaving me to cover rent and utilities alone. My rent and utilities are about 2100 for the entire month, but will have new roommates for November.

I’ve been self-sufficient since I turned 18 and have always worked hard to take care of myself, but right now I can’t do it alone. Your help will give me the stability I need to catch up, protect my home and transportation, and focus on getting back on my feet with my new jobs.
