Help Tomas & his family battle stage 4 cancer

2020 has been a rough journey for many of us. Up until recently we couldn’t really complain about being too burdened, as so many others have. Recently though this changed. Our lives changed. In one minute our world was altered forever.  My dad, Tomas Palacios, was diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the lung that has metastasized in several areas of his body in the form of bone lesions in his femur, pelvis and hip, lower back, clavicle and throughout his neck as well as a lymph node of his left lung. This broke us, but we are finding our footing every day. We are hopeful and put blind faith in God that only He knows and He can heal. Miracles happen daily. We are fighting this as a family and he has so many people that love and support him behind him. We hope you are too!!



 

A little about our situation:

My dad Tomas had been experiencing back pain over the last couple years, which he assumed was due to his profession. This last year has been more severe and it has forced him to take time away from work frequently until the pain would calm down and he could resume his daily life. This August he had another episode that seemed to intensify and he was forced to take nearly a month off work before he was finally diagnosed. Because of this, he hasn’t been back to work and will not be able to return for the foreseeable future. Short term disability unfortunately does not provide full pay and it takes months to process. Everyday necessities of life continue and as he is the head of the household, income has come to a full halt. He has a wife, Aline, and four kids, Elayna/Nathaniel(14)/Izabella(8)/Sophia(6), who depend on him.

 

His doctors have advised that he start radiation, 3 different chemotherapy treatments and including immunotherapy to strengthen his bones (as so much of it has spread to his bones). The insurance has been slow to approve his treatments as we have been waiting a month already to start treatment. His case is high risk and even with the help of the insurance, this is all incredibly expensive. Our road is long as he many need to be on this therapy for years.  Your generosity can help Tomas go forward with his treatments needed to fight his cancer. The money raised here will go to expenses and medical bills, medication, any future treatment costs, and anything that is not covered by insurance.

 

My dad is one of the strongest people I know, even though he may not always realize it. HE IS TRULY MY HERO, my heart and I’m not sure who I would be without him. I can’t even comprehend that my siblings could not have as much time with him as I have. They need their daddy more than I can express. He is such a giving, hardworking, loving and goofy man who lives for his family. He makes you laugh without trying (or meaning to lol). Now it’s time to send him some love and support back.
