I want to try feminising hormones to see what life will be like in a ✨️changed body✨️

I’ve been on the NHS waiting list for 5 years but still haven’t even made it through triage for my first assessment. ☹️ This isn’t unusual - even by NHS standards, trans healthcare waiting times are devastatingly long, stretching way past the legal limit. ⏳️⚰️

I don’t wanna waste my life on a list and I don’t want to DIY unless I have to, so I’m going to try going (semi) private.

‼️ How Much ⁉️

The semi-private world of Shared Care Agreements is expensive ⚠️ ☠️ ⚠️ Just to get me set up & able to access hormones, it could cost me up to £4,130!!

This money pays private doctors to give me psych & physical assessments assessments, a diagnosis that says I'm crazy-in-the-gender, two years of regular check-ups, and three months therapy to help me manage all the emotions of this process.❣️

Because paying for all on my own would financially ruin me I’m asking for help from friends and loved ones ☺️ and because I feel weird asking for money, I’m cycling over 100 miles to justify it. ⛰️

⁉️ You’re Doing What ⁉️

The Dunwich Dynamo is an overnight cycle from London to the Suffolk coast.

A few thousand riders meet on 12th July around 7pm in London Fields, then cycle 112 miles to Dunwich beach, riding through the night and into the sunrise ☀️ It's not an official race, there's no support trucks or water stops, just bikers looking out for each other. ❤️✊️

Sounds like a fun and ridiculous adventure, maybe even a good way to raise some money to pay for healthcare?!

I'm doing it with friends and I'm always keen for more to join, either for the cycle or at the finish ☎️ Drop me a line if you're interested.

This probably won’t be my only fundraiser - I’m not expecting to make half let alone most of what I need in one go. If by crazy luck I raise more than I need, I’ll donate the rest to Five For Five, a collective fund that redistributes wealth to trans women & transfem causes. ⚧️ ✊️

I’m also planning to run a party in October, with music & games & other ✨️fun things✨️
