Let's help FIREFIGHTER Tom Dymek Truman
Hi, my name is Ron and I'm Tom's little brother, the younger looking one on the left. Everyone one knows Tom Dymek Truman as a retired EMT, Firefighter and photographer. This photograph is several years old and we all wish Tom was feeling as good as he looks in this picture.
Tom has several medical conditions, but his current and terminal illness is COPD. COPD does not have a cure and episodes can make a person feel like they are being smothered by a pillow. A resent episode this week sent Tom to ER.
Along with medical expenses that are not covered under his Medicare, including travel to and from the doctor or ER, Tom has for a long time having more and more difficulty packing up his 5th wheel camper and leaving the camp ground park every three weeks, per their contract. That means he has to live on the side of the road somewhere, known as "Boondocking" and then return to the park. His declining health is making it harder and harder to do this and the park that is owned by Thousand Trails has no compassion and has threatened to cancel his membership he has been paying for years. He was too sick to pack up and leave and expect him to pay up to $900.00 for an extended stay or be cancelled, so the need is urgent.
Tom is proud and has always been a hard worker and a giver and would never ask for help himself. My wife and I do what we can, but live a 2 1/2 drive from him.
Our goal is to help with current medical expenses and also have enough funds to get him relocated closer to us from his current location near Otay Mesa Lake at Pio Pico Campgrounds, to a camper friendly mobile home park in Lake Elsinore, where he was a volunteer firefighter and EMT at Station 11. He was also a firefighter with Riverside County as a Water Tender driver and firefighter during the wildland fire season.
My wife and I will manage the account and be responsible to get 100% of the funds delivered to him, and we will cover any % GoFundMe collects for their service so Tom receives 100% of all donated funds.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless and keep Tom in your prayers.
