Hello. My name is Carol and I am a good friend of Tom Stangl. We grew up together in the small town of Pierz, MN. A few years ago Tom made the decision to move back to MN from California to take care of his aging father. Tom took great care of his Dad for several years until he passed away in 2023. Tom was finally able to resume his career as a wine sommelier in California. After finding the perfect job, Tom was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. His employer then laid him off one week later. Tom’s cancer is not operable. He will need chemo and radiation. This treatment will most likely cause him to lose the ability to taste permanently. This will ultimately affect his career as a wine sommelier. A career he was passionate about. His jaw is affected also by the tumor. He is only able to open his jaw 1 centimeter. This is permanent and will affect his ability to talk and eat. If you know Tom he loves to talk! He was an exceptional singer in choir and outstanding actor in high school drama plays. Tom needs our help as his copays for all of these tests, scans, appointments, treatments, etc are costing him thousands of dollars. With no job he needs our help !
