On Wednesday, July 16th, my dad's (Tom Snider) barn was struck by lightning. He woke up to a loud bang and ran outside to see the building completely engulfed in flames. Within minutes, the whole building was gone. The fire spread to his other buildings, including the shed and tractor shed, which were also total losses. The garage was also affected and has significant damage. Thankfully, my dad's house was only minimally affected, which we are so very thankful for.

Due to this tragedy, my dad has lost thousands of dollars worth of possessions, including all of his tools, his mowers, his tractor, as well as the loss of many, many irreplaceable memories from over the years.

Those of you who know my dad know he is a selfless guy who would drop everything to help those in need. Many of you have been coming to see us every year during the Christmas season and have built cherished memories at the farm right alongside us. If you know my dad, you also know he would never ask for help; he is the type to just "grin and bear it."

So I am asking for help on his behalf. Insurance will help cover some expenses; however, we all know what a lengthy process this is, and most items are not fully covered due to depreciation. All donations will go directly to him and the farm to begin the process of rebuilding and trying to replace all that was lost.
