Help Tom and Andy Get Back on Their Feet
Donation protected
Hello, all good friends. For those of you don't know me, my name is Tom Sharpe. I live in the fine small city of Marion, Iowa with my boxer, Andy. I am a former marketing executive who was force to retire early from working a full-time job due to the diagnosis that I have Parkinson's Disease. Now I spend my time pursuing my passion for writing creative non-fiction, fiction and poetry, and volunteering my time at civic and social organizations.
As many of you know social security disability does not pay a lot, and so to make ends meet I have had to take on a small part-time job working in the kitchen of a local pizza joint. Andy and I can normally take care of things, by living modestly, but recently we were hit by several large surgical and prescription medical expenses that are not covered by Medicare, and there's likely to more in the next year. That has created a dire situation for us, one that might entail us losing our beautiful, old cottage on the hill.
Most people who know me that I don't like asking for help; I prefer to give rather than receive, but desperate and urgent times like these force you out of your comfort zone. So, here's what I asking for. If any you seem inclined, a $20 or higher donation to this fundraiser would help me and Andy to get back on our feet (paws), and maintain our simple quality of life. Our goal is to generate $4000 is assistance, but ever little bit helps.
Thanks in advance for your help, and always thank you for your kindness, support and friendship.
