Help Tom Kennel Through His Cancer Battle

This is a fundraiser for Tom Kennel, who was recently diagnosed with metastatic, very high-risk prostate cancer. After experiencing some fairly common urinary symptoms, Tom sought medical care and discovered that he has prostate cancer. Through testing, doctors found that the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes. In a single day, Tom went from not knowing he had cancer to a stage four diagnosis and was left with no time to prepare for the surgery and treatment that would begin right away. Tom is about to receive his second dose of chemotherapy this week.

My boyfriend Tom is a hardworking business owner of an auto repair shop in the Jacksonville community. He is known for his honest work as a mechanic and as a trustworthy shop owner. Tom has dedicated his life to helping others. Whether it's the single parent who needs their only car to get to and from work or a small business owner who needs their work truck fixed, Tom always cares about their individual circumstances and tries to get them back on the road as quickly as possible. He is a one-man operation and often works 6-7 days a week to get the job done. Tom refers to his customers as friends and family and treats them with that kind of care and compassion. He is also an animal lover who feeds and rescues the many cats who show up at his shop. Tom is there to help anyone in need.

Now it is Tom who needs help.

Tom is going through aggressive cancer treatments and chemotherapy and will not be able to work during his treatment. A donation of $25 would go to help Tom pay for medical and living expenses during the time he is away from work and receiving treatment. His treatment is expected to last through March 2025.

How the funds raised will be used:

To pay insurance premiums of $1,000.00/month

To pay for medical expenses - $10,000

Unpaid time away from work through March 2025 - $10,000
