Help Tom Fight T-Cell Lymphoma

My name is Justin Woodward, and I'm asking for help for my dad, Tom Woodward. His story is below. Anything helps. His medical bills are already stacking up, and he hasn't even had his first bone marrow treatment yet. We all know how crippling those bills can be in the best of times, not to mention when he can't work. My dad is a loving father, grandfather (or 'Papa'), husband and more. He is facing a tough road and has stayed quiet about it for too long. You can read further below.

In May of 2021, Tom was diagnosed with Sezary Syndrome. It is a rare form of T-Cell Lymphoma. It began as a rash and moved into his blood. Several months earlier, a rash had started to appear on his body. Tom's family doctor thought it could be from his soaps, detergents, or lotions. This was not it, so they thought maybe it could be from his medications. He went off some of his medications and the rash continued. They did blood work and found that his white blood cell count was high. They finally decided to test him for cancer. Through a bone marrow test, it came back positive for T-Cell Lymphoma. His oncologist told us that there is an amazing immunotherapy that has done wonders for patients with Sezary Syndrome. His insurance did not approve this type of treatment right away, so he began a round of chemotherapy drugs. It gave him terrible side effects and was not doing its job. The insurance company finally approved the immunotherapy treatment, which he began a month later. At first, it was doing a great job, and his oncologists were happy with the results. His rash was not showing up as often, and he felt pretty good. When his rash would show up, he would get extremely high fevers, fatigue and loss of appetite. Even though his symptoms from Sezary syndrome were getting better, his white blood cell count was not where is doctors would like it to be. His oncologist informed him that a bone marrow transplant would be the only chance of a cure. As of today, Tom is waiting to get a donor. His amazing siblings and children are all being tested. We are waiting for the results. As soon as we find a donor for Tom, he will begin the process of getting a bone marrow transplant. We will keep this site updated as we get the results of the donors. This Go Fund Me page is being set up to help cover the expense of his treatments and transplant. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you.
