Help Tom and his family fight cancer

My name is Jade and I am starting this fundraiser to help a family who are currently facing a recent cancer diagnosis for their son, Tom.

Tom has just graduated primary school and should be excitedly preparing for high school in 2024 however after several months of feeling unwell has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, called Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL). This is rare and aggressive type of cancer that means Tom and his family will be living in Brisbane for at least the next six months.

I am in the unique position of knowing how hard this period is going to be for Tom and his family - as our little girl was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2020. That following year, Tom's beautiful Mum, Christa, was one of Eve's year 1 teachers - and was so loving and wonderful, that when I heard the news about Tom I wanted to do all that I can to help. People are overwhelmed when they hear news like this - because no child should be sick and no family should have to endure the nightmare of having a gravely ill child.

Any donation - even $5 - will help this family by alleviating some of the financial stress associated with not working at all or as much while they navigate the early stages of treatment. If you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser will also help. It's a small gesture but can add up to mean an awful lot.

The funds will be used to help the family pay bills and additional expenses they are likely to incur.
