Please read this update from our beautiful friend Tonita for an update on her healing journey:I wanted to give you an update about my blessed journey. My heart is filled with gratitude for always being surrounded with an amazing family, friends, and communities. In this journey I have felt so much joy, hope, faith and prayer. A few people have asked me, “why does God let bad things (like cancer) happen to good people. What I know for sure is that everyone’s life has challenges. The challenges are no tests or punishment by God. What is true is that we can trust the love of the Holy. This profound love gives us the strength and courage to live gracefully in our journey.
Knowing this deep love, I want to share with you that in Friday my great medical team let me know that my cancer is in both my lungs and growing. After discussing several options I have decided to try an oral treatment that is very similar to chemotherapy. I will begin this treatment tomorrow. I know this journey may be become harder, but I have been witness to so many people in my life face challenges. They have become my teachers of faith and grace.
I do appreciate all your love, understanding, kindness, and support. Your constant messages, texts, emails, prayers, cards, and smiles brings me peace.
In my mind, body, and soul I feel so blessed. I will continue to do things that bring me joy. I will make my best effort to keep you posted as my journey moves forward. I will also share with you all some songs, prayers, and images that give me strength.
