Yesterday evening Toffee was diagnosed with carcinomatosis cancer. A condition in which cancer is spread widely throughout the body, or, in some cases, to a relatively large region of the body. Thankfully this cancer responds generally well to chemotherapy and we are early enough to start treating him without effecting his lifestyle or having to do additional biopsies or testing.
Like all cancers we cannot get rid of it, but we can do our best to fight it. Toffee's quality of life is our main goal, and he will have blood tests and regular check ups to make sure that everything is responding well.
Toffee had his first round of chemotherapy yesterday evening and the doctor wants to have him start another round every 3 weeks for a total of 6 sessions. All funds will go toward these costs, bloodwork, and medication to help keep toffee comfortable and happy for as long as possible.
We cannot thank you enough for taking your time to be on this page and for any funds that you are able to donate. Toffee is the sweetest rescue pup and I am the luckiest girl to have seen him wandering on the side of the road on the 4th of July in 2015. We aren't raising for a cure sadly, but for many many more happy days ahead.
Lots of Love,
Allison & Toffee
