Help Todd Sands Focus on Health, Not Bills

Hello everyone! My name is Lisa Shride and with the approval of my children's father (Todd Sands) and one of my best friends for over 35 years I am writing to request some assistance in his time of need. Anyone who knows Todd knows he is one of the most compassionate individuals you will ever encounter. Todd worries more about others than he does himself. He is a great friend, father, and grandfather. Over the past few years Todd has suffered two widow maker heart attacks and within the last year or so has had 7 stints placed. During this time he has been laid off from his job, fought with unemployment, rehired by his employer, and in November his employer shut the doors, and once again found himself without employment. He lost his insurance and was forced to obtain insurance through the market place, which has turned out to be pretty crappy coverage. Two emergency hospitalizations in the last couple of months ended up requiring his 7th stint. He was told he was a ticking time bomb because of the 100% blockage. His insurance denied these admissions. Doctors have told him he should not work. He has applied for disability, but anyone who has dealt with that fiasco knows most people are turned down and if approved can take years. Unfortunately, Todd's unemployment runs out soon, and he will have no income. He wants to work and has a great work ethic but has been unable to find employment of any kind. His most recent hospitalization ended up with him needing a bipap machine, but despite his life depending on it it looks like his crappy insurance won't approve the device. Insurance has also denied medication he has to have, according to his doctors. I have never considered creating a Gofund me before but feel Todd is well deserving of some compassion and assistance. I hope this can help alleviate some of his financial stress, which would allow himself to focus on his health and not on how he will pay his bills, obtain needed medical equipment, medication, and keep a roof over his head. Todd has worked with many people in the medical field over the last 35 years who know the person he is, so I hope this reaches many people. Any monetary assistance would be gratefully appreciated.
