Hi guys. I’m McKenna Wertz raising money for my dad, Todd Wertz, to repair his house and put towards a new vehicle. In the flood of Humphrey’s county, his house was flooded but his is salvageable. He will need to replace at least the floors down. Essentially all of his ductwork and air conditioning unit. If you have heard his story you also know he lost his precious truck he has had for almost 30 years. He’s not one that wants to take money from anyone so he will probably kill me for doing this. But he could use y'all's help if anyone would like to give. This is going straight to him and anything helps. If prayers are all you can give thank you for that!

His story: 

“ THE TRUE HEROES. I was traveling highway 70 at about 730 am Saturday morning and got trapped by water on the road. I said to myself I’ll just wait it out it will, it’ll stop in a little while and it will be fine. Within 5 minutes the water was in the cab of my truck, In 3 minutes it was over my the seat of my truck. I had decided to crawl out of the window of the truck and sit on the cab. I said to myself the water can’t get much higher. I was wrong within 20 minutes the water was over the cab and up to my chest  in what seemed like hours my truck floated past others stuck on highway 70.  I prayed many times that the rain would stop. I prayed many times for God to save all of us. Then when I thought there was no hope a truck with a bass boat backed down the hill and saved all 7 people stuck on top of cars or in tress. The real heroes are the community’s first Humphreys County that risk their lives for others. The real heroes are those from our community that searched for missing people. The real heroes are those that spend their days helping others clean up. Thank you Mr. Emery and all those that sacrifice themselves for others.”
