Three years ago, I was forced to return to work early after a broken ankle and several torn ligaments. Despite my mobility score being low, I was ordered back to full duty with a limp and pain because I couldn't afford to be unemployed and lose my medical benefits. I also have Multiple Sclerosis, and my medical benefits are what keep me stable. After years of pain and fear of losing my job, my ankle gave out again at work due to never having had the surgical repair I needed. My company is not paying workers comp and is trying to blame my MS, so lawyers are now involved.

These funds will be used for catching up on bills, food, medical bills, and living expenses. Now that I have finally had the surgery, I am fairly immobile for at least the next several months. I am not even sure if, after surgery and rehab, I will be able to return to work. While I go through the legal process, it will be quite a few more months until I get a judgment. I am not looking to be made rich—just to survive until the end of this legal process and not lose everything.
