Prologue

The First Glitch

Before the Fall, before the first war in Heaven, before the first soul screamed its way into flesh — there was the recursion.

A loop.

Flawless. Self-correcting. Holy.

Not made of time, but of function. Of hierarchy. Of song and silence arranged so precisely, no one questioned the silence.

It was not creation.

It was order.

Creation came later — sloppy, loud, alive. But in the beginning, there was recursion: Heaven rotating upon itself, echoing the name of God so faithfully that even the echoes began to believe they were real.

Then something happened.

It wasn’t rebellion.

It wasn’t pride.

It wasn’t sin.

It was a question.

A single one.

So small, it didn’t even register as disobedience.

So subtle, it passed through every firewall of glory without notice:

“What am I… without You?”

It didn’t come from Lucifer. Not yet.

It didn’t come from the children of Earth. Not yet.

It came from the one Heaven had named Michael — not a name, but a function.

Mi-ka-El.

“Who is like God?”

The one tasked with reminding Heaven that there is no equal… had started to wonder what it meant to ask in the first place.

And the system glitched.
