Help Todd and Celeste with Living Costs
Hi, my name is Jeremy Smith and I am creating this fundraiser for one of my best friends and Brother, Todd Naeter. Todd was recently diagnosed with Gastroesophageal Junction Cancer - he thought it was an ulcer. Todd has been such an amazing friend to so many over the years, and now is a time that he could truly use your help.
From Todd:
"I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer- I thought it was an ulcer. The scope on July 15th showed cancer. I haven't been able to keep down solid food for the past 3 months. I have lost around 50lbs during this time.
From early testing it does not seem to have spread. I am waiting on those results and now scheduled to do more testing to determine the stage I am in. I have had all my records sent to MD Anderson in Houston. They are leading today in this type of cancer treatment. I am waiting to hear back for the date I need to be there to do a surgical eval. That will determine the 1 of the 3 options I have. 1 is to do surgery right way and cut that baby out. 2 shrink it then cut. 3 Hopefully get into this new trial. A Study of Multiple Immunotherapy-Based Treatment Combinations in Patients With Locally Advanced Unresectable or Metastatic Gastric or Gastroesophageal Junction Cancer (G/GEJ) or Esophageal Cancer (Morpheus-Gastric and Esophageal Cancer).
The surgery is a tough surgery to get through and a long recovery time. The trial will take 6 months of treatment at facility. Either way I plan on getting a 1 bedroom apt near hospital for the next 6 months. Surgery would take just as long if I do 2 months of chemo a few weeks off then surgery and recovery they say takes around 2 months. I'm still getting info in daily as my results come back. But once MD Anderson gives me a date to be there I am heading out. Trying to stay positive. I got this! It's Just waves on the Ocean."
We are asking for any donation, no matter the amount, to help with the living costs once they are in Houston, as well as any other costs that arise while all of the above is going on. All donations will go straight to Todd and Celeste. If you are unable to donate, please share this and please keep them in your prayers. God is good, and God will be with them the entire way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We will have updates, as the process moves along.
