Help Toby Walk Again

Hello! Our names are Joe and Dana and our darling 3-year-old Frenchie, Toby, is going through a really tough time. He recently started dealing with intense back pain, and after being seen at the ER, he was diagnosed with IVDD (a serious spine condition) & scoliosis. He is currently paralyzed, unable to walk, and still experiencing intense pain.

Overnight my happy playful boy who loved chasing toys and cuddling on the couch suddenly couldn’t move his back legs and lost complete control of his back side. Watching him struggle and cry in pain has been absolutely heartbreaking.

Toby now needs specialist care, possible surgery, physical therapy, and ongoing treatment to manage his pain and give him a fighting chance to walk again. All these costs are adding up quickly: vet visits, imaging (MRI), medications, and mobility support (like a dog wheelchair).

Every donation no matter how small goes toward Toby’s recovery and care. Toby has brightened so many people’s days and every person who stops by his shop has become very attached to the little guy. The two options are invasive and noninvasive treatments (acupuncture, laser therapy, etc.). We are doing as many noninvasive treatments as possible for now, and if that doesn’t work, we can possibly get him in for a CT scan. If he’s a good candidate for the back surgery he needs, which is located out of state, we will proceed with that.

Toby isn’t just a dog; he is the embodiment of unconditional love and has touched countless people's hearts during his duties as shop dog and best boy ever. Anything we can do to help relieve his pain and get him the appropriate treatment, we will, but we aren’t able to financially cover it all ourselves without putting ourselves in a risky situation. I know there are good people left in this world, so if you’re reading this and have a heart to donate, any amount would be more than appreciated. We aren’t the type to ask for handouts, but we would do literally anything for this angel on earth, and if you knew him, you would do the same.

The CT scan is $2-3k, and the back surgery is between $7-10k, so those are the main two expenses we could use the most help covering. His noninvasive treatments are $500-700 a week. We ordered him a stroller to get him around, and next, we will be ordering him a custom wheelchair, which is around $500.
