Hi my name is Toby, I’m 16 years old and have played inline hockey since I was 8.
I love playing the sport and being part of the inline hockey community both on the island of Ireland and around the world.
I play for the Armagh Stars team in the U18, League 1 and Elite divisions and this year we, as a team, have won both the U18 and league 1 titles against teams from all over Ireland.
Over the years I have had some great opportunities to train with a variety of coaches and although I am still learning it is my privilege to now be able to pass my knowledge onto the younger children who are taking up the sport at Bangor Chiefs Inline Hockey Club.
In July this year I will have the opportunity to play for Team Ireland at the European Championships in Italy for both the Junior Men and Senior Men’s teams. At 16 I will be the youngest player on the senior men’s team this year.
This is an honour and privilege to have been selected and I am committed as always to giving my very best at this tournament.
Unfortunately as a minority sport in Ireland we receive no funding so everything we do has to be self funded which is difficult when you are competing at this level within this sport.
Any funds that I am able to raise will go directly towards travel, accommodation and equipment for this upcoming tournament and I would be extremely grateful if you could help me with my journey at this time. No matter how much you can spare I appreciate every penny that will help me achieve my goal.
Thank you for reading
