I brought my cat Toby in for a routine checkup, including blood work since he’s getting older. The results were devastating: he is severely anemic, has elevated heart enzymes, and highly elevated protein levels. Multiple veterinarians have reviewed his bloodwork, and they believe it could be cancer or Feline Infectious Peritonitis. The only way to truly figure out what’s going on is through further testing, which unfortunately is expensive. We’re also on a time crunch to get a diagnosis, because if Toby’s anemia gets any worse, he’ll need a blood transfusion on top of all the diagnostic costs.
I’ve had Toby since 2017, and he’s truly the best cat I’ve ever known. He’s my soul pet—my companion through thick and thin. I’m working as much as possible to afford his diagnosis, but times are tough and vet bills are overwhelming. We need to start with X-rays and an ultrasound to clarify the type and source of disease, and he also needs an echocardiogram to determine if heart disease is present. I’m starting with the first round of tests and hoping it will give us answers. Your support would go directly toward these tests and, if needed, a blood transfusion to save Toby’s life.
I know times are tough for most right now, so it’s hard for me to ask for help. But if you can support us by donating or sharing this fundraiser, it would mean the world to me. Toby is only 8.5 years old, and I know we could have many more years together if I can get him the care he needs. Thank you for reading and for any help you can give.
