Help Toby get his LPLO Ligament Surgery and Recovery

For those who don't know, Toby has been a huge part of the medieval scene in South Australia for the better part of the last 8 years. He's won 5 costume contests and participated in every event in his trademark armour. He's known to most as 'The Armoured Dog' and every stallholder knows of him. We normally don't travel far between people wanting photos of him and quickly becoming a sort of unofficial mascot of the events.

He has not appeared at the last two events and he now needs your help. Somehow he has torn his cruciate ligament (in his knee) clean in his left back leg which requires major surgery.

Why are we doing this fundraiser? This question takes a bit to answer and it's not an easy decision to make.

My partner and I are living off a single income that barely pays the bills. Toby (12) and our elderly cat, Molly (13) are on medications and prescription foods daily. We also have an assistance dog we are training to let my partner have a better quality of life due to her health. She cannot work and I earn a bit over Centrelink's threshold for her to receive any sort of help, including DSP.

Between working full-time and being a full-time carer when I get home, let's say I don't get time to earn extra money to afford something like this when it happens.

I know Toby is 12 years old this year and his armour has now been retired but he is still in excellent health and has many years ahead of him.

We aim for $6000 but if we can raise more we can do things like hydrotherapy for him to help with recovery. Our first consultation with the surgeon will be as quickly as we possibly can. Please see any updates, I will try to be as active as I can on there with everyone.
