♿️ Help Toby Get a Wheelchair ♿️

Bonjour team!

This fundraiser is to help our sweet pal Toby, who is trying to access a wheelchair and needs our support.

Toby has ongoing complications from a traumatic brain injury, spinal compression, and PoTS. During the past year, he has cycled between using canes, crutches, and walkers, none of which are able to meet his specific needs. Because of the nature of his disabilities, it is crucial that Toby is able to sit to get around, and to prevent falls that could be very dangerous for him. Toby is in urgent need of a lightweight manual wheelchair in order to get around in his day-to-day life.

Toby is one of the kindest and most supportive people you will ever meet. He has done so much to help build queer & trans disabled community in Halifax, and make sure that others feel valued, loved, and supported.

Pictured above is the model of wheelchair Toby hopes to get - a “Quickie QRI Lightweight Manual Wheelchair”, which in total is $2,400 and will include an anti-tipping accessory that will prevent further head and neck injury. The remainder of donations will go toward some wheelchair-related accessibility tools, and moving expenses to get Toby into a more accessible apartment.
