In December, two little kittens showed up on my welcome mat, shivering in the freezing cold. Every morning at 7am, I go outside to feed the stray cats in my neighborhood, and that day, I found these two—Toby and Biscuit—abandoned by their mother. My neighbors confirmed that the kittens had been left behind, and I knew they wouldn’t survive the winter on their own. Even though I’m on disability and already care for two other cats, I didn’t hesitate to bring them inside and give them a safe, warm home.
Now, Toby and Biscuit have just turned six months old. Toby is starting to show signs of maturity, and I’m worried about the possibility of pregnancy and spraying. I reached out to Brookside Animal on Eaton Ave in Hamilton, Ohio, where Toby has been seen before. The vet explained that both kittens will need a vaccination visit, and Toby will need to be neutered soon. Biscuit’s surgery will be even more expensive due to the procedure needed. Covering these costs is more than I can manage on my own right now.
I typically don’t ask anyone for help, but I’m desperately needing it this time. I’ve looked into grants and UCAN, but the grants are still too expensive and UCAN doesn’t have openings until July—which might be too late. I know times are rough for everyone, but even if you just share this fundraiser, it would mean the world to me and my kittens. I’m only asking for what I truly need to give Toby and Biscuit a healthy, happy life. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
