On what should have been a joyous day celebrating Tobias’s 4th birthday, our world was turned upside down. Instead of opening presents and enjoying his cake, Tobias became seriously ill. As the evening progressed, he spiked a fever and showed no signs of improvement. By the next morning, he was still very sick, unable to sit up, lethargic, and in severe pain. We rushed him to the ER, where doctors discovered he had a Wilms Tumor on his right kidney—a rare form of cancer most common in children under 5.
That evening, Tobias was transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where after a full day of tests, he underwent a five-hour surgery to remove the tumor and his kidney, as well as to have a port inserted for future treatments. We are now in a waiting period, unsure of the cancer’s stage or what the next steps will be. For now, Tobias is focusing on recovery, but the road ahead is uncertain.
Our family is staying in Houston to be close to Tobias as he heals and undergoes further treatment. We don’t know how long we’ll be here, and with both parents taking time off work to support him, the financial burden is becoming overwhelming.
We are humbly asking for your help during this difficult time. Donations will go directly to covering medical expenses, travel, lodging, and the everyday costs of being away from home. Every little bit helps so that we can remain by Tobias’s side as he faces this challenge.
Even if you can’t donate, your prayers and support mean the world to us. Please share this page with others so we can spread the word and get the help Tobias needs.
Thank you for your love and support—Tobias is a fighter, and we are all in this together.
With gratitude,
