Help welcome Baby Girl, Kalien-Weydt
Hello friends and family,
my near and dear friend,Janice and her fiance were absolutely elated to find out they were pregnant at 43. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a rare pregnancy disease called hyper-emesis gravidarum (HG) at 6 weeks pregnant. This is a rare condition that effects 1% of pregnancies, and causes debilitating nausea and vomiting up to 50x per day . Sufferers struggle to keep down any food or drink, therefore easily become severely dehydrated and unable to maintain proper nutrient intake, including the all important prenatal supplements pregnant women are strongly advised to take.
She was then hospitalized with kidney stones and put on in home IV infusions and 3 antiemetic medications (the same they give to cancer patients receiving chemotherapy) as her vomiting and nausea had become so consistent and severe, they were concerned for the health of her and baby's heart . She has been hospitalized several times, with multiple complications throughout her pregnancy, and each day has proven to be a struggle.
Janice has been unable to work and mostly bedridden for the first five months. She severely is anemic, has had muscle, gum tissue, and hair loss as a result of malnutrition . She so badly wants to be filled with joy and full of anticipation for the arrival of their little girl, but all has proven to been difficult for her and her fiance, Adam.
Janice's hyper-emesis is finally getting better and typically disappears once the baby is born, but now she faces the recovery period and this typically takes months, sometimes years, as her body has been so depleted over the last 8 months.
In order to support her recovery, she and her fiance are hoping to hire a night nanny to help them through the first few months with their daughter, but they are extremely expensive. The purpose of this Go Fund Me is to help off-load some of the financial stress during a time of recovery so we all can welcome this sweet little peanut in to the world with more grace and ease--a little girl whom I will consider my niece.
Janice is one of the most generous, thoughtful, and kind women I know. The type of person who avoids stepping on ants, and the type of person who always considers others in need. Truly, she is a gem of a woman, and so will be this new little girl.
Any monetary donation, small or big, would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for the support.
