Help to upgrade Septic for Great Mountain Zen Center
Tax deductible
Hello friends, I am Gerry Shishin Wick, a Zen monk and a director of Great Mountain Zen Center. I am 83 years old and suffered four strokes earlier this year. I am recovering but I need your help.
The Great Mountain Zen Center is a non-profit rural refuge where people find peace and relief from the present-day chaos through the practice of meditation. As we know, everything is subject to the laws of impermanence and this is especially so for an old building in the country. Unfortunately, our simple life here has been disrupted by a septic system that decided that it would not take any more shit from us. In order to maintain our open programs for those who seek the authentic Zen teachings, we need to put in a new leach field for our septic system. We cannot operate without upgrading the system. It is expensive – much more than our modest budget allows. The cost to test the soil for the drain field, design the system, get the county permits, excavate the site and install the new pipes will come to more than $45,000.
People come to the Zen Center to let go of their unhealthy habit patterns and to realize their Buddha Nature. The buildings and grounds need to dispose of their unneeded toxins.
We need your help to accomplish that goal. Please help us by contributing what you can.
