Help to Survive in Gaza

Donation protected
My name is Ghada Aldasooqi, I am urgently reaching out to you for help for my family in Gaza. Due to this terrible war, my family is in desperate need of food and other life supplies. The situation is dire, with their home destroyed, their livelihoods shattered, and their lives constantly threatened. I am desperately trying to raise funds to help them with food and shelter, and eventually help them evacuate to safety across the border. It may not be possible for all of them to leave, but I would try to help as many as possible to make it out.

My family in Gaza consists of three sisters, her children and grandchildren, and a brother. All of them have evacuated from Khan Younis and are now living in tents in Rafah and in Al-Mawsi. I am the only one who lives in Europe. The war has left all the members of my family unable to provide for their basic needs. I feel a strong responsibility for helping them by providing them with the means I have. However, after six months, this has become exceedingly difficult and now almost impossible for me alone. Until now I have been sending them part of my salary and I have already used all my savings. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to provide for them alone, that is why I am asking for your help.

My sister Hala, 51, is a special needs teacher. Her Husband is a lawyer. They have six children, four girls and two boys. Hala used to work at The Palestine Red Cresent Society in Khan Younis- which was bombed in December. Her house was bombed in October. She and her family were one of the first families to become homeless in Khan Younis. They have evacuated five times since the war started. They are now living in a tent I Rafah. Hala has an autoimmune disease, and she needs medicine and a special diet to be able to survive. Without access to medication, her health is deteriorating rapidly.

My sister Azza, 50, is a pharmacist and her husband Suhi is a lawyer. Together they have six children, all boys. Two of them had only one semester left to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in IT management. The pharmacy where she used to work was bombed, and on January 28, they were ordered to evacuate from their home in Khan Younis. On their journey to Rafah, the two oldest boys were arrested, stripped naked, tortured, and humiliated. Even though what they went through left several psychological scars, they survived. The family now lives in a tent in Rafah.

My sister Huda, 46, is an architect. Her husband, Yasser, is a pharmacist. They have five children, three boys and two girls. Huda worked on international construction projects in Gaza. On January 22, IOF bombed her apartment to where my mother had evacuated. On that terrifying day, my mother did not survive the IOF attack. She was killed and we were not able to give her a proper burial. While trying to evacuate from the ruins of the building, Huda was attacked by the Israeli military dogs. She got multiple and severe dog bites over her right arm while she was trying to protect her face and neck from the dogs’ attacks. Wounded and knowing little about the destiny of our mother’s body, Huda and her family left for Rafah that day. They stayed there for one week but could not find a tent or a safe place where to sleep, so they evacuated to Al-Mawasi.

My brother Ahmad is 24 years old. He lived with my mother in our house in Khan Younis and worked at a restaurant in the area, which is now in ruins. Ahmad had kept together with my mother until the day she died. He has been together with my sister Huda and her family since then.

My family is in a state of survival, they had to evacuate this week from Rafah and retain to the ruins and what is left of their houses, and they are in need to find alternative shelters until they manage to reconstruct their houses and work on any project that they can live on as a source of source of income.
