HELP TO SUPPORT MY BROTHER'S RENAL DIALYSIS
Donation protected
Hello, my brother's name is Samuel Anim Ansah, a 44 year old teacher at one of the basic schools in Ghana. He has 5 kids. The eldest currently in the secondary school, the second born about to get into the secondary school, the other three are in the basic school.
Mr Samuel Anim Ansah had been apparently well until about 3 yrs ago when his blood pressure went high. He started developing slurred speech with general body weakness. He was diagnosed of Hypertension/ CVA and was being managed on medications.
His symptoms worsen and a Head CT scan was requested and an impression of SUB ACUTE RIGHT THALAMIC INFARCT. No hemorrhage seen. Chronic ischemic small vessel disease with diffuse loss of brain volume was made.
He developed Renal Failure as his BUE/ CR markers was high elevated.
He is current being managed on renal dialysis where he is expected to undergo dialysis 2 to 3 times a week at the Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua dialysis Centre . Apparently, he sometimes have the dialysis once a week due to additional cost of transportation and accomodations. He is recommended to have his dialysis three times a week, but due to financial difficulties he is facing, he is compelled to have it once and if lucky, twice a week. The cost and length of transportation also takes a chunk of the little money he tries to use for his treatment. Not to mention, he is made to pay for an accommodation for a three days stay since his treatment is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He needs to go about this circle of circumstances every week, apparently all his feet are swollen due to the lapses in his treatment. He was put on dialysis since February but we could only start him in March. He does not have any other means of income apart from his monthly salary from the government which is just a peanut and most time relies for support. Even though we have an estimated amount placed as a target yet we do not know if things are going to get better. Yet it is our wish if things change for good.
I am pleading on his behalf for helping hands to support my brother, my family and I have been tryin yet we still need your support out there.
Thank you very much, bless you.
