Hi! My name is John & I am a Boy Scout in Garnet Valley, Troop 191. I am in my 8th year of scouting.

I am trying to raise money to go on a once in a lifetime 10 day canoeing trip to Northern Tier High Adventure in Minnesota/Canada.

Boy Scouts is a leadership program that has been teaching boys, such as myself, how to lead and take personal responsibility on their own. We also go on fun trips in the wilderness that put our skills to the test. Northern Tier includes both aspects. It is a high adventure camp where we will be in groups that will canoe miles of rivers in a span of 9 days. It will be a challenging experience that will help us learn, adapt to stressful situations, and improve ourselves so that we can integrate what we learn into our societies. We will also have the incredible opportunity of experiencing the beautiful Northern Lights while on the water as well as the land.

Part of this experience is to learn how to pay our own way, and I am humbly asking for your support to pay for some of this trip. I have worked to pay for a percentage of this cost so far by participating in Scout fundraisers and doing errands around the house.
