Carolyn Marie Hensley was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, the second of five children. She hated the cold, and eventually migrated south to attend business school at Arizona State University. In time, she raised her family in the desert of the American Southwest.
As a young adult, she pursued her passion for animals by breeding and showing Irish Wolfhounds. Her specialty eventually migrated to smaller, and more manageable Yorkshire Terriers. Over her many years working with the American Kennel Club, she garnered numerous commendations and recognitions as a show dog breeder, exhibitor, and competition judge. Over the last decade, her interests evolved further into breeding and caring for Arabian horses, which she had loved since a young girl.
We learned that on July 28th Carolyn passed away unexpectedly. She was a long time and valued member of Southern California Edison family since 2005 and her infinite knowledge was apparent to everyone she bumped in to.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Will Hensley of Dallas, Texas. Carolyn had also adopted Jessica Hensley of Hesperia, California, a great-niece, late in life in order to give her a better chance at life.
