On Sunday, May 25th, 8 year old Coast was involved in a frightening accident in which he was hit with a vehicle while he was on his bicycle near his home.

During some heavy rain, he didn't notice a car coming and drove onto the street, where the vehicle hit him and he sustained extremely serious injuries, including an acute femur break.

He was transported to the IWK where he underwent a successful surgery to repair his broken femur, which included multiple pins in his leg that will need to be removed in a separate surgery in 18 months.

Coast has a very long recovery ahead of of him and require a walker, wheelchair and lots of extra support. His mother has needed to take some time off work which will greatly impact their family.

Coast has been incredibly brave throughout this ordeal, showing concern for everyone around him and showing kindness during a traumatic event. He is a very special little boy who needs our help.
