Help to support Charlie's recovery (surfing spinal injury)

Donation protected
Hi,
My name Is Adam Dawson, and around 7 weeks ago on the 18th of May, 24-year-old Charlie Mckellar (son of close friends and work colleagues Bobby and Mark) was involved in a surfing accident at South Stradbroke Island QLD.

The accident left Charlie with significant spinal injuries.
With the help of his mates on the scene who pulled him from the surf, he was airlifted to Princess Alexandria Hospital in Brisbane where they performed a level 5 spinal fusion after finding Charlie's broken vertebrae were protruding his spinal cord.

In the weeks following the accident and emergency surgery, medical staff were unsure if Charlie would regain full use of his legs again.
Charlie remained in high spirits through the entire ordeal as his family and friends stayed by his side, making the trip up to Brisbane daily from their home on the Gold Coast.

At the disbelief of his doctors, with his positive attitude and determination to walk again, Charlie is thankfully now back on his feet, however, he has months of intense rehabilitation ahead of him.

Charlie had been working FIFO in the mining industry, saving for his first home before the accident and now, being unable to work, there will be many challenges and unexpected expenses over the coming months for Charlie and his family as he goes through the long recovery process.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be extremely appreciated to help get this strong-willed young man back to enjoying a normal life again and chasing his dreams.

Thank you for your support.
