I am sharing with you that my brother Carlos, suffered from a cardiovascular event at the end of November 2022, two weeks before he was supposed to have kidney surgery in order to remove 16 stones from both kidneys, being 2 of them big enough to have an open surgery. He overcame the cardiovascular event and while he was recovering at home for 6 months, he was at the emergency room (ER) for consecutive kidney infections and had to stay at the hospital twice for more than a week. During the month of May 2023, he was attending his doctor’s appointments with the purpose of being prepared for the postponed kidney surgery, but on June 1st, he started having high fever, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and there was blood in the urine and stool, so he went back to ER. He was diagnosed with urosepsis and GI bleeding. Carlos is still fighting these two new episodes at the hospital, and if all goes well, he is expected to remain there for at least 3 weeks so he can be ready (if God’s will) to have the postponed kidney surgery.

This GoFundMe campaign was started to provide a way for family and friends to help Carlos secure the level of care and support him as best we can and, at the same time, help alleviate some of the financial stress that is putting on him and his wife. He lost his job in December due to his health issues. Any funds that remain unused will be donated to families in need or related charities. Beyond financial contributions, I humbly request your continued prayers, love, and support for Carlos. I also extend in advance my deepest gratitude. I will keep updating how he is doing on a weekly basis.
