Help to set up my own security business

Hi, My name is Wayne. I used to be a Safer Streets Officer for Worcester Business Improvement District. I started my role in June 2023. I dealt with theft, Anti social behaviour, assisted Police with arrests and dealt with fraud. I managed to get back over £30,000 worth of stock for busineses and have been put in the local paper as "the city superhero".

On September 26th I was called to one of the stores that was a BID business. They had a regular shoplifter/drunk in store being racially abusive and threatening towards staff and members of the public. I had radioed through to CCTV to monitor and radioed for Police to attend but they were busy on another job. I had advised the store to call 999. I made my way to the store and the individual was outside. I stood on the door to prevent him entering again and waited for Police to attend. Whilst I was stood there the individual was threatening to smash the place up and rob them blind. He was abusive and threatening towards myself. I warned him 3-4 times to stay back as he kept coming towards me. He was very unpredictable. He raised his fist at me so I open handedly pushed him to the chest not excessively just enough for him to move away from me. He was intoxicated and stumbled back falling over. He had hit his head but wasn't bleeding and was still conscious. He kept shouting at me so to not antagonise the situation more I moved myself away from him as he was being dealt with by members of the public. Police eventually turned up and I gave them a business card and told them that I have body camera footage if they needed to view it. I did everything lawfully and used common law to be able to self defend myself from a drunk unpredictable individual.

I had to go for an investigation meeting with my CEO and Directors of Worcester BID. I was taken off my duties and made to go and collect votes for Worcester BID as it was during a Ballot which BID have to go through every 5 years. Because of the work i had done most businesses voted BID in for my role that i had made my own without any training.

I had to go for a disciplinary on 22nd October and I lost my Job on 25th October. I had never had a warning and I had never been late. I had appealed with my reasoning for my actions but it fell on deaf ears. I have been through a very emotional few months where I have been at my lowest but have picked myself up and won't go out without a fight. I have 2 children that I love dearly and as a father that had the sack for doing what was right made me feel like a disappointment. I want to be their hero.

I have created this Go fund me page to try and get funding to be able to set up my own business. The city centre are calling to have me back and I enjoyed making a difference, making people feel safer and catching shoplifters. I need anyone and everyone's help to be able to achieve this. I want to be there for the City of Worcester and help in anyway I can for struggling businesses and help members of the public.
