Arm saving surgery for freediver & mermaid Odessa

 

Last year Odessa Bugarin, a well known freediver and mermaid from the Philippines, had a major scooter accident after which the third party ran away.

 

After 5 major surgeries in the Philippines, the only solutions offered to her in the country are to fuse her forearm bones in a fixed position, or amputate her.

 

A team of surgeons at the HCA Healthcare in the United Kingdom is able to completely restore her arm and its mobility, but the surgery will not be covered by her insurance.
