Help evacuate Hazem's family from Gaza

Hi, I am Silvia and I am here to help, through your generosity and compassion, my friend Hazem, 37, a talented journalist and media specialist from Gaza, collect money for the evacuation of his displaced family in Rafah.

The words that follow are from Hazem's nephew, Ali, 17 years old, still in Gaza.

Before 7/10/2023, we were a big, beautiful family, always together and sharing joys at all times. On Saturday, October 7, we heard the sounds of explosions everywhere in the Gaza Strip, and within a few hours Israel's army carried out its air strikes on the Gaza Strip, bombing homes, public places, schools, hospitals, and every beautiful place that we have a beautiful memory of.

After 35 days of the start of the war, we were pressured by Israel through intensified bombing, to leave the house and move to the south of the Gaza Strip. We left with a donkey, leaving behind our large and beautiful house in which we were born and raised. We have beautiful memories in every corner of it.

On 12/5/2023, a civilian house was targeted in Deir al-Balah, inhabited by all the families of my uncles, of whom 25 people were martyred, “4 of my uncles and their wives and children,” all of whom were martyred..

In light of Israel’s threats to enter the city of Rafah, to escape the war and search for safety and a decent life, we decided to travel outside the Gaza Strip, and in order to be able to travel, we need $5,000 for an adult and $2,500 for children.

Because my family is large, it includes my grandmother, 2 uncles, and 2 aunts, in addition to my father and my younger siblings and many small children.

We need an amount of approximately $77,500.
