Good morning,

My name is Tiffany Jones, and my daughter and I used to live in Central Texas until recently.

On Friday, May 13, 2022, the lives of myself and my daughter were flipped upside down. I can't say much for legal reasons, but the home we had built together and called home for almost a decade with my longtime partner and spouse was no longer safe for her to be there. My daughter and I packed whatever we could fit in our bags, unenrolled her from school (amongst other things) and are actively fleeing the state of Texas. A police report with the city we left has been filed.  We have shoved what little we could make it out within my tiny compact sedan. I have very little money and we are currently living in hotel rooms until we can make it to California and I can find a job. So through our physical journey, we hope to heal as mother and daughter as she continues to navigate the emotional, mental and physical aspects of what happened.

 

I hope to go back to the apartment I fled to one day to retrieve the rest of my belongings. Anything you can spare will help us build a new life in California as we work through this.
