URGENT EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR SAVANNAH-LA-MAR, WESTMORELAND

Hi everyone,
As many of you have seen in the news, Jamaica has been devastated by Hurricane Melissa. Over 1.9 million people have been affected — and my hometown, Savannah-La-Mar, is one of the hardest hit.
I visited my family there in June, and seeing photos now of the same streets completely destroyed has truly broken my heart. This is deeply personal for me. My family has lived in that community for over 80 years — my late grandmother was known for feeding those in need from her little shop in the market. She taught me that when our community hurts, we all do what we can to help.
Right now, families in Savannah-La-Mar have lost everything — homes, belongings, even the local hospital’s roof. I cannot sit by and do nothing. I’m urgently raising funds and collecting supplies to send back to help people rebuild and survive the weeks ahead.
Your donations will go directly towards:
• Shipping costs for containers/barrels of aid
• Essential food (rice, oil, tinned fish, etc.)
• Medical supplies (plasters, gloves, paracetamol, gauze, etc.)
• Nappies, baby items, and women’s sanitary products
• Basic materials (zinc, rope, hammers, screws) to start rebuilding homes
I’m also collecting clothing for all ages — men, women, children, and babies — and would love to send supplies to the local hospital that’s been damaged.
Please, if you can give anything — no matter how small — it will make a real difference.
If you can’t contribute financially, I ask from my heart: please share this appeal with your friends, family, and colleagues. Every share could reach someone who can help.
My country is in need. My community needs us. And I can’t do it alone.
Let’s come together — one love, one heart — to help Savannah-La-Mar rise again.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
