On the 23rd of August 2026 a sudden house fire completely destroyed the home that Robert and his adult daughter, Indigo, shared in Cooksbridge. While we are endlessly grateful that they both made it out safely with their two dogs, the fire unfortunately took everything else. Their home, clothes, irreplaceable memories and daily necessities were completely lost to the flames and smoke damage.
This loss is uniquely challenging for their family and is the latest misfortune in a host of devastating events they have gone through over the last few years. Indigo’s life was significantly impacted in 2023 when she suffered a grand mal seizure. This has led to a diagnosis of FND with NEAD. It took over six months for her to regain the ability to walk and talk again. Since then, Indigo navigates ongoing health issues that require consistent medical care, stability, and specific daily routines. Losing their home has not only left them displaced but has also disrupted her access to crucial necessities for her well-being. Robert is a well loved member of his community. He was the Village Santa last Christmas and is a hardworking, dedicated father who is doing everything he can to protect and provide for himself and his family.
The road to rebuild their lives will be long and the immediate out-of-pocket costs to replace what they have lost and rebuild their lives is staggering.
If you are able to donate, any amount—no matter how small—will make a massive difference and will be hugely appreciated. If you are not able to give financially, please may we ask you share this page with your friends, family, and community networks.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
