Hello, my name is Carlyn and I’m trying to raise funds to have a wheelchair ramp and other accessible modifications made to my home.
On March 28, 2021 my 20-year-old grandson Jashaud was involved in a really bad car accident which has caused him to have a permanent lifelong disability. Jashaud was involved in a hit and run where a speeding car hit the car that Jashaud was a passenger in.
Jashaud lost his life that evening, but with the help of several emergency service workers he was revived! This accident started our journey including a long hospital stay, therapy, and rehabilitation that he continues to attend today. Jashaud was diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as well as being a Quadriplegic.
Jashaud is dependent upon a wheelchair to move around as well as 24/7 care to complete daily activities. I would like to have my home modified because at this time Jashaud can’t visit me unless there’s someone to physically pick him up to bring him inside the house.
A wheelchair ramp and house modifications would be a big help to me and would make it safe and much easier for Jashaud to visit me. We would like to promote as much of a normal life for Jashaud. Before his accident, when Jashaud was not home he spent most of his time at my house with his cousins and other family members.
When we get a ramp and other handicap-accessible modifications made to my home he will be able to do more of the activities he enjoys doing outside of his home.
Please help our family raise money to allow Jashaud to do more activities he deserves
as a 23 year-old young man.
