The Davis family needs your support in their ongoing legal battle to protect a courageous young girl, my great-niece, who has endured unimaginable trauma. For more than two years, her case has been fought across multiple family and criminal court battles, and the fight is far from over.

The Harsh Reality: Justice is Slow and Costly

Protecting a child from future neglect and abuse comes at an immense emotional, mental, and financial cost. The Davis family has already spent hundreds of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to ensure her safety, fight for justice, and prevent those who harmed her from regaining access to her. Unfortunately, the legal system allows abusers to exploit delays, driving up costs while forcing the victims’ families to shoulder the burden.

What Happened & Why We Must Keep Fighting

My great-niece’s own mother has been found guilty of:

- Failure to protect a child (her daughter, my great-niece)

- Lewdness involving a child (with my great-niece as the victim of record)

- Two counts of obstruction of justice (for lying to police and hiding evidence to protect her predatory boyfriend)

Despite knowing he was a convicted child abuser, my great-niece’s mother allowed this man into her home and left him alone with her daughter. He then victimized her, creating and distributing evidence of his abuse online, evidence later discovered by child exploitation investigators.

The predator who harmed my great-niece had already been convicted of abusing another child. He was released early, and my great-niece became his next victim. We cannot allow this to happen again! He is currently facing criminal charges, but even now, his defense team continues to exploit delays in the system, pushing back his trial and driving up legal costs for our family.

The Fight Doesn’t End in Criminal Court

Beyond seeking justice for the crimes committed against her, we are also fighting ongoing legal battles in family court to prevent my great-niece from being forced into contact with dangerous individuals who either abused her or enabled her abuse. Tragically, some family members have chosen to support her abusers and are attempting to use the legal system to regain access to her. We cannot let that happen.

The Davis family has given everything they have to ensure my great-niece’s safety. As a Licensed Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy in Utah, I know firsthand the lifelong impact that abuse can have on a child’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being. She deserves to heal, grow, and live free from fear.
