Hi. I'm doing this fundraiser for Catherine and Mike. To know them is to know they are a couple who helps. Catherine has dedicated her time working with the less fortunate and pours out everything she has to those around her. After a very rough year last year, Mike and Cathrine decided to take a MUCH-needed vacation. All was going great on the cruise until a few days in when Mike had a cardiac event. That landed him in the ship's hospital for a night until they could get to the next port. In Naussa, Bahamas Mike was transported to the government hospital where he stayed until the doctors could decide if he could be cleared to travel back to Canada. Just as the doctors where ready to clear Mike to fly back, he had another cardiac episode. This caused the doctors to declare that Mike was NOT fit to fly and needed to have a Dr and nurse fly from Canada to the Bahamas to pick them up to bring them back to Canada. As you can imagine the cost of the ship hospital, medical bills and hotels for Catherine to stay in and then the private jet with a doctor and a nurse has not been cheap. Insurance has denied being able to pay for the expenses. While I know Mike or Catherine would never ask for help, we as their friends, family and community know the type of people they are, and we want to give back. So, if you can help in any way to ease the burden while they try and figure out what is wrong, which also means for both of them a pause in working and being away from home as he is in hospital outside of province, it would help.
